| Mr. Stephen J Melvin is a
real estate attorney with significant experience
in real property transactions, including real estate
development projects and involvement in government-developer
negotiations. He has acted as Counsel in the development
and acquisition of several boutique hotels in The
Bahamas, and in the restructuring of one of the
country’s newest resort properties.
Mr. Melvin graduated from Bentley College in Boston
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing
and Economics. He later earned a Bachelor of Laws
(LL.B) degree from the University of Westminster
in England.
In 1996, Mr. Melvin was called to the Bar of England
and Wales. He was admitted to the Bahamas Bar
the following year. He joined Higgs and Johnson
as an Associate in 1998 and became a Partner in
2006.
