| Mrs. Samantha S J Knowles-Pratt
is a leading advisor in The Bahamas’ securities
and capital markets industry. A former Deputy Legal
Counsel and Manager of the Securities Commission
of The Bahamas, she was part of a team that provided
legal guidance on the drafting of the Investment
Funds Act and Regulations, 2003, and assisted in
the training of staff on its provisions. She also
assisted in staff training on the provisions of
the Investment Funds SMART Funds Rules, 2003.
Mrs. Knowles-Pratt studied History at The College of The
Bahamas, earning an Associate of Arts degree in
1993. She completed a Bachelor of Laws degree
(Hons) from the University of Wolverhampton in
England in 1997. She was called to the Bar of
England and Wales in July 1998 and was admitted
to the Bahamas Bar a little more than one month
later.
Mrs. Knowles-Pratt joined Higgs & Johnson
as an Associate in 2005.
