| Mr. Michael F. L. Allen’s areas
of professional expertise include commercial, corporate,
real estate & development, wealth management
and financial services law. For more than 15 years
he has advised international and Bahamian clientele
on a variety of trust, corporate and commercial
structures for general business and wealth management
purposes. His practice involves providing legal
support to major Bahamian real estate acquisitions
and resort development, the creation of financial
products connected with wealth management concerns,
and issuing formal opinions on a wide range of multi-jurisdictional
structures available for the conduct of business
in and through The Bahamas.
Following the acquisition of a post graduate
degree in counselling and administration from
the State University of New York at Buffalo, United
States and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the
University of Buckingham in England, Mr. Allen
was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in
1987 and the Bahamas Bar in 1988. He is also a
member of the Honourable Society of The Middle
Temple, England.
He is a former Chairman of the Bahamas Financial
Services Board and has written on such topics
as “A guide to doing business in the Bahamas”,
“The Bahamian Foundation” “Investment
Funds” and “International Business
Companies”.
