With considerable experience in an international law firm in London, Lisa Benjamin has acted in numerous large scale commercial transactions with associated values up to GBP 2 billion. She appeared as counsel for a major financial institution in its acquisition of a large chain of hotels from a global chain, and was seconded to the in-house legal division of a multinational investment bank negotiating software development and global IT licences for financial products, including a global licensing agreement worth approximately GBP 10 million.

Her experience extends to include drafting and negotiating general services, joint venture, hotel management, distribution and agency agreements and franchising agreements for various general commercial, pharmaceutical, retail, consumer facing and advertising companies.

Lisa studied History and Literature at McGill University, graduating with a first class joint honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995. She earned an LLB from the University College of London in 1998 and completed the Legal Practice Course for Solicitors at the College of Law a little more than one year later. She subsequently spent two years in cross-departmental training in the law firm of CMS Cameron McKenna in London, and was admitted to the Solicitors Roll in England in 2002. She spent a further four years practising in the Commercial Department of CMS Cameron McKenna, and was called to The Bahamas Bar in 2003.

Lisa joined Higgs & Johnson as an Associate in 2007.
